Thank you for trying out Temporary Tattooths™!

We hope you have as much fun with Temporary Tattooths as we’ve had putting them on ourselves.  Basic application is simple, however this FAQ, along with the online instructional video should help provide direction to get you started.

First, Please thoroughly read all warnings and instructions on the packaging and the included leaflet.

FAQ

Q:  How long do Temporary Tattooths™ last?

A:  When applied using Temporary Tattooth Priming Gel, up to 2+ weeks. Without using Priming Gel, around 2+days.  Results will vary depending on where you apply them (front tooth vs back tooth, top vs bottom),your tooth anatomy, and the application technique.

Q: Can I brush my teeth with them? Can I eat with them?

A:  Yes and Yes!  Please brush and floss like you normally do!  Eat good food!  Make sure to visit your dentist every 6 months!

Q:  How do I take care of Temporary Tattooths after I apply them?:

A:  Brush and floss as you usually would - at least twice daily.  Don’t pick at them, unless you want to remove them!  Hard or crunchy foods and candy may chip Temporary Tattooths or colorants.  Invisalign or clear aligners/retainers can chip them as well.  Proper use of Priming Gel before application will help them to last longer.

Q:  How do I remove Temporary Tattooths?

A:  Rub vigorously with the edge of your (clean!) fingernail.  Work along the edges of the image first.  If you used Blue Priming Gel for application, they will take longer to remove!  Be persistent and it will come off.  The surface of your tooth may feel slightly chalky to your tongue for a day as any residual resin wears off with regular brushing. Do not use sharp objects, sand paper, fish hooks, nails, spoons, forks, sporks, etc, or anything else that could damage your tooth or gums for removal.  If in doubt, visit your dentist (it’s probably time for a cleaning anyway!).  A dentist can remove a Temporary Tattooth in seconds with no need to numb.

Q:  Can I order more Temporary Tattooths or supplies for the kit?

A:  Yes!  Please check the Home Supplies Collection on our website for refills and additional Temporary Tattooth products.

Q: Can I put Temporary Tattooth products on a tooth with a crown, veneers, or a filling?

A:  While it’s possible, we do not recommend this as it may damage the existing tooth restoration.  For application to teeth with dental work, we recommend visiting a professional that offers Temporary Tattooth products.  They will be able to help you decide what the best options are.

Q:  What are they made of and are they safe?

A:  Temporary Tattooths are made with a proprietary cellulose material that is non-toxic and is not harmful to ingest (however we still don’t recommend snacking on them).  Additionally, when it is applied to the tooth, the image is encased in the matrix of the Bonding Resin.  We use only the highest quality products, non-toxic inks, and tooth colorants that are made using cosmetic grade color additives.  Please thoroughly read all warnings on the included instruction sheet or packaging before application!

Q:  How do I get them to stay on longer?

A:  Good application technique is very important (follow the written instructions exactly).  Keep the tooth completely dry throughout application!

It also depends on where in the mouth the temporary tooth tattoos are applied – Top teeth will usually last longer than bottom teeth, and front teeth will usually last longer than back teeth.

Q:  How can I get them to last even longer?

A:  Visit a Pro from our “Find a Pro” section!  Professional application can last over 6 months when properly applied!  This type of application will usually need to be removed by a professional.  Click here to find one in your area!

Q:  Do Temporary Tattooth products have any taste or side effects?

A:  You may notice a sour or bitter taste after application.  Priming Gel is extremely sour!  Be sure to thoroughly rinse with water after application of Temporary Tattooth Priming Gel, and after curing the final layer of Bonding Resin for your Temporary Tattooth. Do NOT ingest the Bonding Resin or Priming Gel. If more than a pea size amount is ingested or swallowed, contact a Doctor or poison control immediately.  Mild and temporary sensitivity may occur. Our products should only touch the tooth surface.  Avoid all contact with gums or other mucus membranes. Please refer to the instruction sheet or packaging for all care and warnings.
